Policy

The bar facilities at Diageo offices afford employees with opportunities to interact, celebrate occasions, support employee activities, and enjoy Diageo’s products responsibly. As a beverage alcohol company, Diageo has a special responsibility to operate its bar facilities sensibly to avoid liability and reputational damage to the Company. Though FLIK International operates the Company’s bar facilities, it is incumbent on Diageo to establish and enforce a clear set of guidelines on the use of such facilities:

1. The Diageo bar facilities are available for use by Diageo employees and, on a limited basis, by invited business guests of legal drinking age.

2. External organizations having a business relationship with Diageo may have use of the bars for member events that are requested, and attended by, a Diageo employee. A copy of the Bar Guidelines will be provided to the designated representative of the external organization to ensure proper conduct on the part of the organization’s members.

3. Bar facilities will be open during hours established by the Facilities director or the site’s senior leader responsible for each office for use by employees at regularly scheduled Company “happy hour” nights and otherwise.

4. Only Tips/TAMS certified bartenders will be eligible to serve behind the bar.

5. Bar facilities may also be used for special events requested by Diageo employees and involving people from outside of Diageo under the following conditions:

Guests of Diageo are permitted on a limited basis and must have a business or personal relationship with the Company. The bars are not to be used for consumer tasting or private events by non-Diageo affiliated parties.

At least one Diageo employee is in attendance at the event to act as host for the Company guests.

The Diageo employee organizing the special event will gain prior approval from the Head of their business function to conduct the special event including assumption of all associated costs. Diageo may donate alcohol and the services of FLIK bartenders only to a 501c-3, non-profit organization. Other external organizations are required to purchase their own alcohol and bartender services through FLIK.

At least thirty (30) days prior to holding a special event, the Diageo employee responsible for organizing the event shall provide FLIK and the Facilities director for the office complete details of the event including purpose of the event, number of attendees, how the attendees are affiliated with Diageo, and what quantities of food and drink are required.

The Facilities director will work with the Head of the hosting business function to determine if the special event is appropriate and consistent with these guidelines and will work with FLIK to obtain any permits needed and determine occupancy restrictions.
